This article aims to inform you on Functional Skills; they are an Ofqual approved qualification and equivalent to a GCSE Grade C/Level 4. They are widely accepted by employers and universities alike! This qualification is essential if you did not get a passing grade at GCSE; in fact, many employers or educational courses may ask that you have an equivalent qualification if you did not pass at GCSE. There are a variety of providers; we recommend Pass Functional Skills. As well as providing Functional Skills exams, they have a wide range of resources, all of which are in-depth and carefully crafted to help you pass.

If you have not studied academically for a number of years, you may be unfamiliar with the specification and exam content. This can make achieving your qualification harder; here at Leicester Tutors, our goal is to ease this hardship and prepare you for your Functional Skills exams. We have specialist tutors in Maths and English; they can help further your learning in these subjects, support you in your revision, and advise you on how to prepare for the exam. Most Functional Skills services are currently online; therefore, you can revise and take your exam from the comfort of your own home! Just like an in-person exam centre, exam conditions will need to be met and maintained.

Several resources are available to help prepare you for your exams; but, please remember to refrain from using materials prior to 2019. Due to the alterations to the specification, revision materials before this will not be as relevant or useful to you. At Leicester Tutors, we ensure our learners have access to the resources they need to pass the exam. Additionally, we can provide tutoring sessions to build your confidence, expand your skills, and prepare for the exams. If you need any more information or help with your Functional Skills preparation, you can contact us at Leicester Tutors.
