At Leicester Tutor Company, we make sure that every one of our students, regardless of age or ability, receives the best guidance possible. For students who have not yet received a grade C or a level 4 at GCSE, we offer both GCSE and Functional skills level 2 equivalent qualifications. Most frequently, these qualifications are used to enter a university or an apprenticeship. We typically advise the functional skills level 2 equivalents rather than the full GCSEs because functional skills is a shorter course and people typically find it simpler to pass.

The level 2 maths equivalent is a 35-topic course that is an excellent substitute for a GCSE. This course may appear difficult and overwhelming at first, but once a basic understanding is established, confidence will grow quickly. This, along with the  level 2 English equivalent, can be taken from home, giving the learner much more flexibility. However, ensure that the centre you choose is Ofqual-regulated, as this is more widely accepted. The English equivalent is most commonly taken by international students who are studying or working in the UK. Most jobs and courses do not require Functional Skills qualifications.

No matter what you need support with, whether that is Functional skills or a GCSE, we can offer the best advice possible. If you are interested in any of these subjects or you need any support, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
